Friends,

We have some news for our MS Bike Ride this year.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, itā€™s going to be a virtual ride.  Is this good news?  I guess it depends on how we look at it.  We wonā€™t be at risk of getting or spreading the virus at the ride so I guess thatā€™s good.  We wonā€™t have an amazing ride to do togetherā€¦thatā€™s not so good.

Just because the Coronavirus became a worldwide pandemic doesnā€™t mean MS went away.  It has not gone away for any of us.  We look so forward to the MS Bike ride each year.  As you all know, we need to continue doing our part to raise money for research for MS and helping our National MS Society provide the educational programs they provide for us living with MS.  When the Coronavirus hit us, the National MS Society was right there for us providing valuable information about the Coronavirus and MS.  Letā€™s get creative and come up with ways we can continue to raise money for the National MS Society and have fun doing it.  Letā€™s do our part!

Weā€™ll continue riding our Friday morning rides and as we learn more about how the virtual ride will be handled by the National MS Society.  Weā€™ll learn how these rides fit into the virtual ride.  Weā€™ll make them fit in somehow.  I have some good ideas on how we can make our rides this summer memorable and raise some money for the National MS Society.

Speaking of Friday morning rides, we finally had our first ride last Friday.  I was wondering if anyone would even show up.  Amazingly, we had an awesome group of people helping people.  People with MS have so much determination and driveā€¦itā€™s inspiring!  That goes for our volunteers who help as well.  Keep in mind this is 7:00 in the morningā€¦sure beats sleeping!  Peppy Pedalersā€¦you rock!

It sure was nice seeing everyone in person again!  Thanks to all who showed up.

Please join us at 7:00am Friday morning at Nettesheim Park on the SE corner of Hwy SS and Oak Street in Pewaukee.  Same place as last year.  Weā€™ll all ride together as weā€™ve done in all the years past.  If you need me to bring a trike or two, please let me know.

Keep riding everyone!

Our prayer group on Wednesday mornings are a great place to get together virtually, catch up a bit and give thanks.  Even though we canā€™t get together physically, itā€™s so nice to see all that joins us virtually and learn how youā€™re doing and how this pandemic is affecting you.  I really like the good things coming out of this pandemic that are discussedā€¦seeing Godā€™s work as blessings.  Itā€™s awesome seeing so many of you there laughing, listening, sharing, giving thanks and praying!   We have a lot to give thanks for, donā€™t we?

Weā€™re going to be doing it again tomorrow (Wednesday) @ 11:30am.  Weā€™ll get together either via phone or computer (your choice) and share, talk, listen, give thanks, and pray in however God leads us.  Itā€™s a way for all of us to get together virtually to catch up and be there for each other and with each other.  I hope youā€™ll join us!

Hereā€™s a link to our Zoom Meeting that Ashley provided for us.  Thanks Ashley!  Just click or call @ 11:30am Wednesday and youā€™ll be connected.  I hope to ā€œseeā€ you there!  šŸ˜Š

I hope youā€™ll join us on Zoom!

My heart goes out to all the people and families of the people that have been affected by COVID-19.  This is really getting serious and close to home.  Whether actually having it, being exposed to it, being affected by businesses being shut down, losing your job, working on the front line, etc.  These are tough times and we really need to take it seriously and do our part of practicing social distancing and all other recommendations.  I hope you and your family are safe.  Letā€™s keep everyone affected in our prayers and pray we all get through this as safely as we can.

As we all go through this pandemic together, I encourage you to share a smile with someone.  Perhaps you could give someone a call that you havenā€™t talked with for a while just to see how theyā€™re doing.  This pandemic is tough in many ways.  We all could use a little extra love and encouragement during these times.

Letā€™s be thankful for all the doctors, nurses and everyone in the health care that are putting themselves at risk every day and every night as they serve those with the Coronavirus.  These are amazing, selfless, courageous people!  Letā€™s also give thanks to all the people in the world that are working diligently to develop testing equipment and ways to treat this Coronavirus.  Letā€™s also give thanks for all the people that are working diligently to produce protective gear, respirators, and any other medical equipment to help us get through this pandemic.

We may be inconvenienced in many ways but others have it much worse.  Letā€™s be thankful we have each other.  I know Iā€™m thankful for you!

We will not be getting back together at the gym yet.  Weā€™re going to get through this COVID-19 pandemic before we do.  I love you too much to put you at risk.

I hope youā€™re doing your part to ā€œkeep movingā€ and stay healthy during these unprecedented times weā€™re going through.  Iā€™m hoping and praying that none of us get this virus and have to deal with it.

Letā€™s stay calm, focused, healthy, flexible, have faith and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day and make good choices.  Hopefully weā€™ll be back at the gym together soon.

I love and miss you all!

Dan

P.S.  Please share how youā€™re doing and what youā€™re doing to keep movingā€¦pictures and smiles please šŸ˜Š
