Friends,

Who’s sick of the masks?  Me too!  We will back off soon if things keep going the way they are.  I’m asking you to hang in there with us for a little while yet.  We’re getting close and we’re getting through this…yeah!  I’m also thanking you for being respectful and cooperative.  We’ll take one week at a time from here.

If you’re by yourself on a machine without anyone around you, take your mask down and breathe.  If you’re crossing paths with people, talking with them or are near them, please be respectful and wear your mask whether you’ve been vaccinated or not for a little while yet.  Let’s keep being safe and respectful until we get through this.  You all mean too much to me and we’re getting closer.

One of the most important things you can do is to stay home if you have any symptoms or know you’ve been exposed to someone with the virus.  Please don’t come until your symptoms go away.

Dr Becky and her student volunteers will be here again this Wednesday.  We’re fortunate to have them!  Be sure to come and allow them to help you in some way.  They’re learning about MS and how it affects us and we’re learning from them as we benefit from their help.  It’s win / win.  Thank you Dr Becky and students!

Ricky will be back Wednesday and Friday this week and each week going forward doing Tai Massage unless he’s traveling.  There will be a sign up sheet based on first come first serve.  If Ricky doesn’t get to you, then you will go to the top of the list for the next time.  Please go sign up by Ricky when you get here if you want him to work with you.  Please share your experience so we can all learn from the results of this.

Many of you have generously donated to our group and have helped us get donations to make equipment and programs for people with MS possible – free of charge.  We’ll be putting some of this money towards having Ricky join us each week.  We’re going to experience what Ricky’s work can do for us if we are consistent with it.  I’m confident that many will benefit in many ways such as pain relief, range of motion, better mobility, improved mental state, a new sense of hope, etc.  Thank you to all who have made donations and helped get donations to make this possible!

We would like to put together a fund raising team to raise more funds to have more programs available along with more specialized equipment and eventually be able to fund research that we feel would be beneficial to us living with MS.  We need to get living with this MS thing figured out.  We’re already learning a lot and seeing many people make progress.

If you would be willing and interested to be part of our fund raising team, please let me know.  Once we know who’s willing and interested, we’ll get together and kick some ideas around on ways to raise funds and have fun doing it.  Our goal is to keep this free for people with MS.  I can tell you that I’m NOT the person to ask anyone for money.  I’d rather give than receive.  I need some help with this.

Have you been to our MS-Just Keep Moving website lately?  Mike and Cal continue to add new content each week.  If you ever need a little inspiration, you can resort to some of Cal’s beautiful and amazing photography and inspirational messages by clicking here.  If you want to know more about any of Cal’s images, just ask him.  He personally took all the pictures himself.  He loves sharing his experiences.

We’ll be getting together from again from 9:00am – noon on Wednesday and Friday.  I hope you’ll join us.

It looks like we’ll have nice weather for our Friday morning bike ride this week.  I hope you’ll join us!  If it’s raining, we won’t be riding.

We’ll be meeting Friday at 7:00am at Nettesheim Park in Pewaukee.  It’s on the SE corner of Hwy SS and Oak Street.  The GPS address is:  N26W27495 Prospect Ave, Pewaukee, WI 53072.  Come a little early so you can get your bike out of your car and be ready to ride as close to 7:00 as possible.  We’ll ride until about 8:45.

If you need me to bring a trike or a tandem for you, please let me know as soon as you can so I can bring them.

If you’d like to ride but don’t know how you’d do it, please let me know.  We’ll do our best to figure out a way to get you riding.  We get pretty creative😊.

Last week, our prayer group was once again…powerful!  I just love the way we share, pray together and witness prayers being answered weekly.  Thanks goes to God and to everyone that joins us.

Our Zoom prayer group on Wednesday mornings are a great place to get together virtually, catch up a bit and give thanks.  It’s awesome seeing so many of you there laughing, listening, sharing, giving thanks and praying!

We’ll be doing it again tomorrow (Wednesday) @ 11:30am.  We’ll get together via zoom and share, talk, listen, give thanks and pray however God leads us.  It’s a way for all of us to get together virtually to catch up and be there for each other and with each other.  I hope you’ll join us on zoom!

As we all live with MS and go through this pandemic together; I encourage you to share a smile with someone.  Perhaps you could give someone a call that you haven’t talked with for a while just to see how they’re doing.  This pandemic is tough in many ways.  We all could use a little extra love and encouragement during these times.

MS is tough.  Let’s stay calm, focused, healthy, flexible, have faith and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices.  Better days are ahead.

In God We Trust!
Dan
