Wednesday and Friday Workouts, ‘Our Open House was amazing’!

Friends,

Our Trailer looks great!

Joel Harris did an excellent job taking a couple pictures from our Friday morning bike rides and creating the fun graphics for our trailer.  Great job Joel and THANK YOU for donating your time and talents for doing the design work!

Greg Aukofer has a great relationship with the people at Signs and Lines by Stretch in Waukesha and asked them if they would put some graphics on the trailer for us.  We have used Signs and Lines by Stretch for years at Wisconsin Metal Parts and they are aware of what we are doing for people with MS.  They were happy to donate the signage for us.

A huge thanks goes out to the people at Signs and Lines by Stretch for donating the signage.  Thanks Steve and Stretch!

Our Open House was Amazing!

We had our open house on Saturday.  We had around 170 people take time out of their life on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and join us.  That’s amazing!

I’m extremely amazed and pleased with the turnout and the experience our guests received.  We had so many people help with the planning, preparing and sharing food, cleaning, moving equipment around, etc.  Bob loaded all the chairs on his trailer and borrowed them from the Big Bend Lion’s Club and returned them.  Thanks Bob!  The booklet that Gregory and others worked on turned out really nice.  THANK YOU so much to all who helped make this possible!

I loved the program and the way Phil prepared for it and presented it.  You did another awesome job again this year Phil.  Thank you!

Dr Kate Kern did an excellent job sharing information about some of the fun and excitement she brings to the gym.  Nice job Dr Kate and thank you!

Ricky Heldt shared some amazing stories about people at the gym who are making some incredible progress with the Neubie electrical stimulation therapy.  Thanks so much Ricky!

Linda Catterson shared these nice pictures.  Thank you Linda for being a big part of our family sharing your gifts of Reiki, photography, friendships and so many other gifts.

The video that Anne, her daughter Kathryn, Chad and Rich put together was very inspirational.  I’m still amazed that all the content for the video was created on one average Wednesday morning at the gym with the exception of the bike ride pictures.  Thanks so much Anne, Kathryn, Chad and Rich for making this video.  Thanks also to all who were in the video.  It represents us well and I love it!

Here’s a link to the video.  https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/1027674639  Please feel free to share it with anyone you feel could benefit from it.

We received some very generous financial donations from some of our guests as well.  THANK you so much to all who contributed!  You, along with our many volunteers are making it possible for us to do all we do for free.  It’s critical to our mission that we continue doing what we do for our friends with MS for free.

Thanks to ALL for making our open house so special!

Member Spotlight – Susie Carney

If you get a chance to talk with Susie, ask her about how she feels now compared to how she felt before doing the electrical stimulation at the gym.  I’m thankful she responded so positively to this.

Thai Massage with Ricky Heldt

Ricky will be here on Wednesdays doing Thai Massage.

There is a sign-up board to be used to accommodate your needs for your exercise plan.  Some people with spasticity need to be massaged / stretched out before they can exercise.  Some people need a massage after a hard workout to loosen up their tight muscles or relieve pain.

We have limited spots for massages, please be considerate of people that need the massage the most in order to do the exercises they need to do or recover from the exercises they just did.

You can pick the time slot that works for you.

Reiki with Linda and Mary  Linda and Mary will be here on Fridays doing Reiki.  Many people say their Reiki work is “magical”.  We’re thankful for Linda and Mary for sharing their gifts and talents with us.  Feel free to let them know you’d like to do Reiki with them.  They also have a sign-up sheet.

Inspirational Humor with Adam Wollert

Let’s reach out

I encourage you to share a smile and encouragement with someone.  Perhaps you could call someone that you have not talked with for a while just to say hi and see how they are doing.  We all could use a little extra love and encouragement.

MS is tough.  Let’s have faith, remain calm, be flexible, help each other and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices and take action.

Let’s keep moving, smiling and loving   It helps!

In God We Trust…we are in good hands.

P.S.  I was pretty busy this past week with the open house.  I didn’t get out with the camera too much.  I did catch a couple turkeys trying to figure life out together.

This one happened to flap its wings when I hit the shutter button.

This is the time of the year when the bucks are in the rut.  This guy was running through a farmers yard with his nose to the ground chasing a doe.  He happened to lift his head up for a picture.

This leaf looked nice enough to take a picture of it.

Do you ever feel a little out of place?  I bet this tree felt that way for many years.

I happened to catch a nice sunset on my way home last night.

For those who can’t get out and enjoy nature due your challenges with MS…my heart is with you.  You are with me every time I’m out there.  I enjoy being out there and I also enjoy sharing with you.  I know how hard it is not to be able to get out and enjoy nature.  Let’s enjoy nature and God’s beauty together this way.
