Friends,
Bryant and Stratton Students – Last day here tomorrow – Let’s Thank them!
We have been fortunate to have the Bryant & Stratton College Physical Therapy Assistant students and their leaders here with us these past 9 or 10 weeks again. I love how this group of students were so engaged, led classes which was way out of their comfort zone, worked independently with some of our friends with MS, shared their knowledge and love, etc. We are so blessed to have them.
This has been such a great experience for the students and our friends with MS. They will be giving a short presentation of what this time with us meant to them tomorrow. Let’s thank them and wish them well in their future endeavors.
Thank you, Dr Joe, Dr Sarah and students! I wish you all the best and will be looking forward to your next class next spring.
Big day for Sue last Friday
Sue was not happy that we didn’t have the bike ride last Friday…too cold and wet. She has something else going on this week so she knew she wasn’t going to be able to make it this Friday. That last bike ride of the season is hard on all of us.
When Sue let me know that, I asked her why she isn’t riding a two wheeled bike. She said she hadn’t ridden a two wheeled bike since the 80’s. I did a little quick mental math and said hmmm…that’s about 40 years ago or so. I asked her if she was willing to try and she said she was. Despite it being a little cold outside and her challenges with MS, she rode great!

I’m so happy for you Sue! Let’s see where this goes from here. Biking is very MS friendly. I hope you can keep riding for many years to come.
Friends helping friends with MS
I just love it when I see people living out our mission every day in so many ways. It’s a beautiful thing to be part of. This is only one example. Julie, Pete and Andy sure do share their love abundantly. Rich is loved by so many!

Social and Leisure Activity Group
Last week, Christina led another social and leisure activity group decorating pumpkins. The spirit of love and encouragement shared was so much fun to see. I love the energy at these events. Thanks Christina and everyone who engaged in this activity.

Rebounding – starting back up again
Rebounding has proved to be so beneficial and life changing for many of us living with MS. It was great to see some people starting to engage in it again now that the weather is cooling down and we are getting back inside consistently.

We have one group starting at 6:30am and one group starting at 8:00am. If you would like to do it at a different time on your own, feel free. If you would like to see us have another group session at a different time, please let us know that. We would like to see as many people as we can benefit from this.

Open House – Saturday, November 7th
We will be having our Open House on November 7th. We hope you will join us and invite anyone you know who would be:
- Person with MS we could potentially help going forward
- Person interested in volunteering
- Person who has financially supported us in the past or would potentially support us going forward. We would love to “show” them the mission they are supporting and the impact they are making by supporting us.
We couldn’t even consider doing all we are doing without our friends with MS who join us, our selfless and loving volunteers and our supporters who support us financially and donated equipment, services, etc.

Thursday Morning Walk
October is a beautiful month to walk. Please join us Thursday morning.
We will be back at St Anthony’s again this week. If you would like to walk further next year at the Day of Endurance, now would be a great time to start walking with us. We all learned that if we want to walk better or further, we need to walk more. I know, that’s easier said than done for many of us living with MS. Let’s work hard at it…together.
The long-distance walkers will be starting at 6:30 am. The rest will be starting at 9:00am. We will be starting from St. Anthony’s parking lot.
St Anthony’s Church
W280N2101 Prospect Avenue
Pewaukee, WI 53072
Come a few minutes early so we can start walking as close to the starting time you choose as possible. Bring water and dress accordingly.
For those who wish they could walk but can’t, we are walking for you and have you on our minds and in our hearts on these walks.
Friday Morning Bike Ride
Looking at the weather for this Friday, it looks like it will be a beautiful fall ride. This will be our last ride for the season. There are lots of Halloween decorations on our route. Let’s take them in along with the beautiful fall colors. We will be riding indoors through the winter and get back out there in the spring.

These bike rides are amazing! We had another great year of riding together. It’s hard to believe we started in April this year and made it all the way through the spring, summer and this far into the fall. Truly amazing!
For those who wish you could join us but can’t; please know we have you in our hearts on these rides. We’re riding with you and for you. I hope you too can join us someday.

Nutrition Program.
Janine is back from her travels…welcome back Janine! Thanks, Maria and everyone who attended the nutrition program while Janine was traveling. I’m thankful you all kept it going as well as you did. Well done!
Since Janine was traveling and having so many meals on the road, she thought it would be fitting to discuss the importance of food choices on the road as well as share her experiences. Thanks, Janine!

Here’s a link to the full handout:
Nutrition: MS 54 2026.10.19 Food choice on the road.pdf – Google Drive
See this link to access the entire library of nutrition resources since early last year.
Janine and Maria put a lot into these presentations. It’s wonderful for them to share these presentations with those who can’t be here. It’s even more impactful for people who can be here in person to get the information first hand and be able to get questions answered and learn from others living with MS.
I would highly encourage you to engage in our nutrition program Monday mornings @ 9:00am so you can benefit at a high level. All are encouraged to come; people with MS, loved ones, care takers, volunteers, etc.
Thank you, Janine and Maria!
Prayer Group We’ll be having our prayer group Wednesday from 11:00am – noon.
I just love the way we share, pray and laugh together while we witness prayers being answered weekly. It’s truly amazing!
Thanks go to God and to everyone that joins us. Let’s get together to share, listen, talk, give thanks, and pray however God leads us.
MS-Just Keep Caring – Our Caregivers support group will be the first and third Friday of each month from 10:00 – 10:30am. The next one will be Friday, November 6th, 2026. If you’re a caregiver of someone you love with MS, please join us and share your experience of caring for your loved one. This has been very helpful for many. Thanks to all who participate!
Member Spotlight – Barbara Bythell
Consistency is so beneficial. Right Barbara? I can’t emphasize this enough. I’m so thankful Barbara made it a commitment to stretch every day. I could certainly learn from Barbara and benefit from this myself. I just don’t make stretching a big enough priority…but I should. We all should. You are inspiring me, Barbara. I will work on stretching more consistently myself. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing! A stretch-iversary…I like that!

Ed and Adam’s Podcast
Adam and Ed didn’t make a new podcast last week. Hopefully this week.
Here’s a podcast with Hope and Tony the week before. Hope and Tony are students from Bryant & Stratton College who have been here helping out. It’s always great to hear the students perspective of being here.

Research Needs us!
Marquette University, UW Milwaukee, University of Illinois, and Carroll University have research opportunities they would like us to engage in. We have flyers and more information about these opportunities at the gym. Please engage in these opportunities if you qualify. You could make improvements yourself and you could be helping so many other people with MS as they face their challenges. We really need to get this MS thing figured out and you can help by engaging in these research opportunities.

I encourage you to share a smile and encouragement with someone. Perhaps you could call someone that you have not talked with for a while just to say hi and see how they are doing. We all could use a little extra love and encouragement.
MS is tough. Let’s have faith, remain calm, be flexible, help each other and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices and take action.
Let’s keep moving, smiling, and loving 😊 It helps in many ways!

P.S. I don’t usually share pictures I took outside the week we are in but I’m breaking my own rule on this picture. I took it last week when Larry, Cal and I went to the Horicon Marsh. It fits us pretty well.

Oops, here’s one more from last week.

Ok, now we’re on to pictures from this week. We had a nice sunset in our backyard. I was thankful to be out there.

We had our first frost Friday night / Saturday morning. Cal and I didn’t waste any time, we went out on the county land at sunrise Saturday morning. It was pretty cool. Actually, kind of cold 😊

The frost didn’t last long. We had to take advantage of the opportunity while we had it.

This thistle only had frost on the tips. We don’t see many purple thistles this time of the year. Kind of interesting.

When I walk in nature, I don’t look for anything in particular, just something interesting. I keep my eyes open for colors, shapes, textures, etc. along with critters of course. The colors caught my eye with this one.

Yes, it was a frosty morning out there. We loved it. It’s hard to believe we were the only ones out there.

The fall colors are beautiful right now. We have this tree in our yard. It’s hard to capture its true beauty and colors. This just goes to show we don’t need to go far to find beauty.

Of course, I felt the need to place my cross under that tree and create a beautiful message to share.

For those who cannot get out and enjoy nature due your challenges with MS…my heart is with you. You are with me every time I am out there. I enjoy being able to share with you. I know how hard it is not to be able to get out and enjoy nature. Let’s enjoy nature and God’s beauty together this way.
