Friends,
Using AI to benefit us living with MS
Anne Moore shared some interesting information on using AI in our daily lives last Friday. It sounds like it was very interesting and beneficial. Thanks for sharing, Anne. I’m sorry I missed it.
Golf Outing – We need your help
Location and time:
Friday, June 20th, 2025
Wanaki Golf Course – Menomonee Falls
Registration – 7:30-9:00 am
Golfing – 9:00am
Our golf outing planning with our friends at ePlatinum Health is in full swing. This golf outing is a lot of fun and it’s our largest fundraising event of the year. We are very fortunate and thankful to have our friends at ePlatinum Health putting this on for us.
How can you help?
- We need some nice raffle and silent auction items. If you know a business that would like some visibility with a great group of people that is willing to donate something for our raffles and silent auction items, please ask them to do so. If you would be willing to donate some new items for our raffle baskets, please do.
- You could sponsor a hole. Please see this link for more information https://eplatinumhealth.com/ms-golf-outing/
- You could golf with us. In the past, we’ve filled up each year. This year we are about half full at this point. Here’s the link https://eplatinumhealth.com/ms-golf-outing/ I know last year some of you wanted to golf but it was already full so I would suggest signing up now if you want to golf.
- We will also need a few volunteers. We will let you know what need for volunteering as we get closer
Please help us get some really nice and fun raffle / silent auction items. We will have a list of items desired at the gym in the near future. If you’re willing to be on the planning committee, please let me know. We want to make this a great experience for the golfers again this year. Thanks so much!
We will be having a planning meeting this Wednesday (tomorrow) @ 12:15pm after the prayer group clears out. If you’re willing to be on the planning committee, please show up. If you’re willing to help but can’t make the meeting, please let me know. Thanks so much!
Day of Endurance – Saturday, August 23rd 2025
I hope your training is going well. I know some are hitting it hard already and are well ahead of what they were doing last year at this time…good job! We get out of it what we put into it. Please turn your progress notes into Dr Kate bi-weekly.
Let’s make this journey and experience the best yet and have some fun…together. As we begin our training, let’s enjoy each day and record what we do on the packet we put together for you. If you didn’t get a packet, please see Dr Kate or me for your packet. We’re trying to make it really easy for you to record what you’re doing on a daily basis. These will be interesting for you to look back at a year from now. Hopefully, you can do more next year than you do this year.
Remember, try to do daily workouts and just one LONG workout each week. It’s on the one long day that you want to do just a little better than the week before and gradually build up each week.
Ed and Adam’s Podcast
Last week, Adam and Ed didn’t get to do another podcast. Hopefully next week. If you didn’t get a chance to listen to last weeks with Matt, you can listen to that one.

Thanks Adam, Ed and Ava for doing these podcasts together!
Member Spotlight – Joan Ruffino
I’m really happy for Joan…ecstatic. She continues to get stronger and stronger. Joan gets up really early every morning and she’s at the gym by 6:00am Monday through Friday for our early morning rebounding program. Thanks for doing the hard work, Joan and thanks for sharing your progress. Your progress is progress that needs to be shared with other who have MS. Sure beats sleeping…doesn’t it?

Spin / Cycle Classes Friday’s @ 9:00am
Mike Beiermeister is leading spin / cycle classes again this year on Friday mornings @ 9:00 in the front room.
Please be prompt and ready to start riding @ 9:00am. Spin bikes are limited so it will be on first come first serve. We did pick up one more used spin bike since last week so let’s put it to good use. Let’s get ready for spring bike riding.
Thanks, Mike for offering to lead these classes again!
Friday Morning Bike Rides
Get ready to ride! I will be watching the weather each week. As soon as it is 45 degrees or above on Friday morning @ 7:00am, we will be riding. Usually that happens at the end of April or early May.
If you’re interested in riding this year, please let me or Larry know. If you rode with us in the past on a trike, please let us know what number trike you rode on. We want to try to stay more consistent this year so we can get out of the parking lot earlier with minimal trike adjustments.

Thai Massage with Ricky Heldt
Ricky will be here on Wednesdays doing Thai Massage.
There is a sign-up board to be used to accommodate your needs for your exercise plan. Some people with spasticity need to be massaged / stretched out before they can exercise. Some people need a massage after a hard workout to loosen up their tight muscles or relieve pain.
We have limited spots for massages, please be considerate of people that need the massage the most in order to do the exercises they need to do or recover from the exercises they just did.
You can pick the time slot that works for you.
Reiki on Wednesdays and Fridays
Reiki is available at the gym, for FREE, on Wednesdays (Mary B, Jill K) and on Fridays (Linda C and Mary R), 9:30am until noon. Sessions typically last 20-30 minutes. Sign up for a session on the white board.
Reiki (ray-kee) relaxes the body so that healing can occur! The “magic” of Reiki has helped some of our members with pain, insomnia, constipation, and so much more! Try it the next time you are at the gym!

Let’s reach out
I encourage you to share a smile and encouragement with someone. Perhaps you could call someone that you have not talked with for a while just to say hi and see how they are doing. We all could use a little extra love and encouragement.
MS is tough. Let’s have faith, remain calm, be flexible, help each other and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices and take action.
Let’s keep moving, smiling and loving 😊 It helps!
In God We Trust…we are in good hands.

P.S. I didn’t get out in nature with my camera much this week. I did get out a little though. I got out for a walk with two of my Grand doggies at sunset. OJ was happy.
Clifford was getting tired but still enjoyed the sunset
I saw this little tree swallow by the river.
Here are a few more tree swallows
The little tree swallows were fun to watch
This little finch turning back to yellow was good to see.
This seagull came out pretty sharp
This immature bald eagle says hi to everyone living with MS
Our black squirrel was enjoying our birdbath this week
This sandhill crane was very comfortable in our backyard yesterday
For those who can’t get out and enjoy nature due your challenges with MS…my heart is with you. You are with me every time I’m out there. I enjoy being out there and I also enjoy sharing with you. I know how hard it is not to be able to get out and enjoy nature. Let’s enjoy nature and God’s beauty together this way.
