Friends,
Cardio Class Engagement
Each week, I’m amazed and thrilled at the engagement we are getting in the cardio classes. The students did a great job leading them while Dr Kate was off. Thank you to all for engaging!
For me personally, cardio exercise is the best type of exercise for my MS. I do my best to get an hour of cardio each day. The hour generally goes pretty quickly because I’m usually doing it with friends just like you all are doing it with friends here at the gym. Keep up the great work, I’m confident the cardio exercise will help you in many ways, especially mentally, emotionally and even physically. I know myself pretty well and I know I would be quite depressed and my MS as a disease would get worse if I didn’t do this each day. Great job!
Balance Class last week
We had great engagement in the balance class again last week. Here’s the link to the video Dr Kate made for us. Perhaps you can do this at home several times per week.

Caregivers Retreat
We had our 2nd annual caregivers retreat this past Saturday. The feedback I have received from a few people is that it was amazing. It sounds like so much beneficial and actionable resources and information were provided as well as the relationships that were built and enriched.
A huge thank you goes out to all who worked hard to plan for this, for all who engaged in it and all who financially helped make it possible. Our caretakers live with MS through us and deserve much love and appreciation. I’m thankful we were able to do this for them.
Open House – Saturday, November 9th – Please save the date!
We will be having our annual Open House on Saturday, November 9th.

I hope you will be able to make it and encourage anyone who is interested in what do.
Ed and Adam’s Podcast
This week, Ed and Adam talked with Dr Sarah Andreucci from Bryant and Stratton College. Dr Andreucci is one of the leaders of the physical therapy assistant students that come and help. She has been very instrumental in developing the students and helping our friends with MS. Dr Andreucci sure brings a fun spirit and lots of energy with her along with knowledge. We’re so fortunate to have her with us.

Friday Morning Bike Ride
Once we get into September and October, every ride is a bonus. We will continue riding until the temperature gets below 45 degrees at 7:00am. If it looks like it will get to 45 degrees during the ride, we’ll still ride. Please dress warmer as the temperature gets cooler.
It’s amazing to me how much better everyone is riding now vs in the spring when we started back up. This past week, we were able to ride more neighborhoods more efficiently than we did all year. The cooler temperatures also help us living with MS. Let’s keep riding as long as we can…weather permitting.
We could still use a few more volunteers on the ride with us. We’re getting a pretty good rhythm going when we have enough and gets a little more spread out when we don’t. Thanks to all for showing up and doing your part!
We’ll be meeting Friday morning at 7:00am at Nettesheim Park in Pewaukee. It’s on the SE corner of Hwy SS and Oak Street. The GPS address is: N26W27495 Prospect Ave, Pewaukee, WI 53072.
Come a little early so you can get your bike out of your car and be ready to ride as close to 7:00 as possible. We’ll ride until about 8:45. Let’s ride and have some fun!
For those who wish you could join us but can’t; please know we have you in our hearts on these rides. We’re riding with you and for you. I hope you too can join us someday.

Thai Massage with Ricky Heldt
Ricky will be here on Wednesdays doing Thai Massage.
There is a sign up board to be used to accommodate your needs for your exercise plan. Some people with spasticity need to be massaged / stretched out before they can exercise. Some people need a massage after a hard workout to loosen up their tight muscles or relieve pain.
We have limited spots for massages, please be considerate of people that need the massage the most in order to do the exercises they need to do or recover from the exercises they just did.
You can pick the time slot that works for you.
Reiki with Linda Linda will be here on Fridays doing Reiki. Many people say Linda’s Reiki work is “magical”. We’re thankful for Linda sharing her gifts and talents with us. Feel free to let Linda know you’d like to do Reiki with her. She also has a sign-up sheet.

Let’s reach out
I encourage you to share a smile and encouragement with someone. Perhaps you could call someone that you have not talked with for a while just to say hi and see how they are doing. We all could use a little extra love and encouragement.
MS is tough. Let’s have faith, remain calm, be flexible, help each other and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices.
Let’s keep moving, smiling and loving 😊 It helps!
In God We Trust…we are in good hands.

P.S. I had another fun week with the critters and nature again this past week.
Bonnie snapped a picture of me enjoying the sandhill cranes in our backyard.
I think they would come right in our house if we would open the door 😊
This little woodpecker was fun to watch
Cal and I enjoyed spending some time with the sunflowers at my Mom’s house
And at another sunflower patch with some beautiful clouds in the background
There’s a lot of life in a sunflower patch. It’s nice to see the critters sharing
The longer you stand there and the more you pay attention, the more life you see.
I just love the beauty in a sunflower patch when they’re in bloom
Every once in a while, one stands out from the rest
The clouds really were amazing on Saturday. A simple farm road looks so much more dynamic with beautiful clouds in the sky.
Last week I saw an egret catching a fish. This week, I saw a Great Blue Heron eating a bluegill or a sunfish
They were fun to watch
This dragon fly was pretty cool too
I don’t know what kind of bird this is. It has quite the beak.
It was nice starting the day with a beautiful sunrise
For those who can’t get out and enjoy nature due your challenges with MS…my heart is with you. You are with me every time I’m out there. I enjoy being out there and I also enjoy sharing with you. I know how hard it is not to be able to get out and enjoy nature. Let’s enjoy nature and God’s beauty together this way.
