Friends,
Happy Halloween!
I know it’s late notice but we will be having a Halloween themed workout tomorrow morning 10-3-2024. We will be playing a Halloween themed movie and you’re encouraged to wear a Halloween costume of your choice.
Let’s have some fun with it!
Bryant & Stratton Physical Therapy Assistant students – Thank you!
It’s always a tough day when the students and leaders from Bryant & Stratton College finish their time here with us. Last Wednesday was the last day for this group.
Thank you to the students and leaders! We will miss you and wish you all the best going forward. Let’s keep in touch!
The power of friendships
When we arrived at the Friday morning bike ride last week, it was still dark, the roads we still wet from the rain and it was about 50 degrees. I was amazed when we had 16 people show up to ride. I asked everyone there “If we weren’t riding together, who would be bike riding this morning?” It was a resounding nobody. That includes me. I wouldn’t have been riding if it wasn’t for all of you. Thank you for keeping me motivated and moving!
When I got to the gym and the seated balance class was going on, the power of friendships jumped out at me again as we had about 20 people doing the seated balance class together. Amazing and heartwarming!
Stress Management
Stress is by far my number one trigger for my MS symptoms. Deb Graf put on a very interesting and helpful presentation last Friday about stress management.
Deb covered many topics that can be put into use today. I sincerely believe if we can manage the stress in our lives, our MS will behave much better. Thank you, Deb for putting together such a beneficial presentation and presenting the information so nicely. I appreciate it…we all do!
Cleaning last Thursday
Thanks to all who came and helped clean last Thursday. I’m sure you will notice the gym looks much better. We moved all the machines up front, in the front room and cleaned each machine. We mopped and scrubbed all the floors. It was a big job…I’m thankful for all who helped! Thank you!
My E-mail Change
I’m transitioning out of using my Wisconsin Metal Parts e-mail address. Please change my e-mail in your address book to dan.erschen@gmail.com and use that e-mail going forward. Thank you!

Thai Massage with Ricky Heldt
Ricky will be here on Wednesdays doing Thai Massage.
There is a sign-up board to be used to accommodate your needs for your exercise plan. Some people with spasticity need to be massaged / stretched out before they can exercise. Some people need a massage after a hard workout to loosen up their tight muscles or relieve pain.
We have limited spots for massages, please be considerate of people that need the massage the most in order to do the exercises they need to do or recover from the exercises they just did.
You can pick the time slot that works for you.
Reiki with Linda and Mary Linda and Mary will be here on Fridays doing Reiki. Many people say their Reiki work is “magical”. We’re thankful for Linda and Mary for sharing their gifts and talents with us. Feel free to let them know you’d like to do Reiki with them. They also have a sign-up sheet.

Let’s reach out
I encourage you to share a smile and encouragement with someone. Perhaps you could call someone that you have not talked with for a while just to say hi and see how they are doing. We all could use a little extra love and encouragement.
MS is tough. Let’s have faith, remain calm, be flexible, help each other and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices and take action.
Let’s keep moving, smiling and loving 😊 It helps!
In God We Trust…we are in good hands.

P.S. This past weekend, Bonnie and I went to the Horicon Marsh to see if there was any migration action. We enjoyed a nice day together as we celebrated our 40thwedding anniversary together. That’s a good start 😊.
The first thing we saw was a bunch of sandhill cranes checking us out.
We watched them for a while and then they decided to fly. It amazes me that sandhill cranes mate for life and don’t lose their spouse in the migration crowd.
We went to another spot and found some ducks.
They were fun to watch too
This egret was coming in for a landing with the sun shining through its feathers. I got pretty excited when I saw that. I was hoping the picture turned out. I was happy with it 😊
These Sandhill cranes did a nice fly by
We saw a pair of Trumpeter Swans way off in the distance. They are beautiful birds. I was wishing they would be a little closer.
A little later, they few in front of us.
And then almost over us. Sometimes wishes do come true in nature if you’re willing to wait long enough.
We had a couple ducks do a nice fly by in unison too.
This duck was lit up nicely in the evening light.
As the sun was almost down, this duck stood up as if he was saying his goodnight prayers.
We sure had a nice day together. I’m thankful we are able to share it with you a bit.
For those who can’t get out and enjoy nature due your challenges with MS…my heart is with you. You are with me every time I’m out there. I enjoy being out there and I also enjoy sharing with you. I know how hard it is not to be able to get out and enjoy nature. Let’s enjoy nature and God’s beauty together this way.
