Friends,

We had our ā€œvirtualā€ physical MS Bike Ride this past weekend.  We had many responses from Peppy Pedalerā€™s riding in their area with a few friends.  Itā€™s amazing how so many people are still riding and still doing their fundraising for the National MS Society this year even with the COVID crap going on.  I love it andā€¦THANK YOU!  So many people with MS are loved by so many good people.  We all want to see progress being madeā€¦especially this year with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Around 30 of us Peppy Pedalerā€™s did a nice job of social distancing as we got together for a 30-mile ride on Saturday.  We were very conscious and respectful of the pandemic and of each other.  It was different but we made the best of it.

This year, we had riders from the age of 5 to 85.  Pretty amazing on both ends of the age range! Yes, Leland, our 5-year-old rider made it 30 miles šŸ˜Š.  He enjoyed it so much, he wanted to keep riding.  Itā€™s good to start them young.  Daddy Jake loved it too!

Our 85 year old rider, Jim Kaestner hit his 2,000 mile mark since May of this year on this ride.  Is that amazing or what?  Way to go Jim!  Jim was able to ride with his daughter again this year.  Judy was riding with you in spirit.

Despite the pandemic, the spirit was really high again this year as it is every year at the MS ride.  We had seven people with MS riding this year plus Marlene and Don were there cheering us on again.  We love you Marlene and Don!  Thanks for being there with us!

Connie is our Rookie Rider with MS this year and rode awesome.  Connie is bound determined to beat this thing like John says in his video.  Way to go Connie!

Rick did his longest ride of the year this year.  Nice job Rick!  Iā€™m so happy for you!  Youā€™re pretty happy too; arenā€™t you?  Love it!

Each year, I try to ride 100 miles on at least one day of the MS bike ride.  This year was no exception.  A friend of mine and I rode 102 miles on Sunday.  This is not usually easy due to the neurological pain in my feet due to MS when I get fatigued.  Again, this year was no exception.  I had quite a bit of neurological pain in my feet.  Fortunately, I know my body well enough that I know this will not make my MS worse.  I made it through the 102 miles and felt great on Monday.  I like to share these experiences so people with MS can get beyond some of the fear we live with.  We need to listen to our bodies but many times can do more than we think we can.  Just Keep Moving šŸ˜Š

We even had Peppy Pedaler cheer leaders out on the route cheering us on.  Weā€™re so blessed!

Thanks for joining me on this ride Brett!  Nice ride!!

Weā€™re all riding for people with MS, especially those who canā€™t.  If youā€™d like to make a donation to support us, you can do so at my National MS Society personal page https://mssociety.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.participant&participantID=2299

Do you want to continue riding with us?  Please join us at 7:00am Friday morning at Nettesheim Park on the SE corner of Hwy SS and Oak Street in Pewaukee.  Weā€™ll all ride together on Friday mornings until it gets too cold this fall.  If you need me to bring a trike or two, please let me know.

Letā€™s keep riding! šŸ˜Š

Our prayer group on Wednesday mornings are a great place to get together virtually, catch up a bit and give thanks.  Even though we canā€™t get together physically, itā€™s so nice to see all that joins us virtually and learn how youā€™re doing and how this pandemic is affecting you.  I really like the good things coming out of this pandemic that are discussedā€¦seeing Godā€™s work as blessings.  Itā€™s awesome seeing so many of you there laughing, listening, sharing, giving thanks and praying!   We have a lot to give thanks for, donā€™t we?

Weā€™re going to be doing it again tomorrow (Wednesday) @ 11:30am.  Weā€™ll get together either via phone or computer (your choice) and share, talk, listen, give thanks, and pray in however God leads us.  Itā€™s a way for all of us to get together virtually to catch up and be there for each other and with each other.  I hope youā€™ll join us!

Hereā€™s a link to our Zoom Meeting that Ashley provided for us.  Thanks Ashley!  Just click or call @ 11:30am Wednesday and youā€™ll be connected.  I hope to ā€œseeā€ you there!  šŸ˜Š

My heart goes out to all the people and families of the people that have been affected by COVID-19.  This is really getting serious and close to home.  Whether actually having it, being exposed to it, being affected by businesses being shut down, losing your job, working on the front line, etc.  These are tough times and we really need to take it seriously and do our part of practicing social distancing and all other recommendations.  I hope you and your family are safe.  Letā€™s keep everyone affected in our prayers and pray we all get through this as safely as we can.

As we all go through this pandemic together, I encourage you to share a smile with someone.  Perhaps you could give someone a call that you havenā€™t talked with for a while just to see how theyā€™re doing.  This pandemic is tough in many ways.  We all could use a little extra love and encouragement during these times.

Letā€™s be thankful for all the doctors, nurses and everyone in the health care that are putting themselves at risk every day and every night as they serve those with the Coronavirus.  These are amazing, selfless, courageous people!  Letā€™s also give thanks to all the people in the world that are working diligently to develop testing equipment and ways to treat this Coronavirus.  Letā€™s also give thanks for all the people that are working diligently to produce protective gear, respirators, and any other medical equipment to help us get through this pandemic.

We may be inconvenienced in many ways but others have it much worse.  Letā€™s be thankful we have each other.  I know Iā€™m thankful for you!

We will not be getting back together at the gym yet.  Weā€™re going to get through this COVID-19 pandemic before we do.  I love you too much to put you at risk.

I hope youā€™re doing your part to ā€œkeep movingā€ and stay healthy during these unprecedented times weā€™re going through.  Iā€™m hoping and praying that none of us get this virus and have to deal with it.

Letā€™s stay calm, focused, healthy, flexible, have faith and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day and make good choices.  Hopefully weā€™ll be back at the gym together soon.

I love and miss you all!

Dan

P.S.  Please share how youā€™re doing and what youā€™re doing to keep movingā€¦pictures and smiles please šŸ˜Š
