Friends,

Who wants some good news?  Last week Friday, I was not at the gym with you.  The reason I wasn’t there was for a good reason.  My daughter Sam and her husband Jake (you all know Jake) were able to adopt little Caleb and we had the adoption with the judge.

It all went well and we welcomed little Caleb into our family permanently.  Jake and Sam are going to be awesome loving parents and Bonnie and I will do our best at being good grandparents.

Caleb is a very happy and fun little guy!  Leland is being a great big brother too.

We are so blessed!

Once again, we got together last Wednesday and Friday safely.  Although the virus is not gone, we’ve been fortunate that everyone is being respectful of the virus and each other’s perspective by wearing masks, wiping down equipment, etc. to be safe.  Thank you for being respectful and doing that!  As long as we continue to be safe, we’ll continue to get together on Wednesdays and Fridays.  We’ve extended the time to 9:00am – noon to spread people out a bit more.  We’ll see you tomorrow and Friday!

Who’s ready to ride bike this year?  We’ll be watching the weather and as soon as it’s 45 degrees at 7:00am we’ll start riding on Friday mornings again.  The MS bike ride is going to be a one day ride this year on August 7th.  Let’s get as many people riding as we can and make it another epic ride.  We can ride “with” people with MS as well as “for” people with MS.

If you’d like to ride but don’t know how you’d do it, please let me know.  We’ll do our best to figure out a way to get you riding.  We get pretty creative😊.

Last week, our prayer group was once again…powerful!  I just love the way we share, pray together and witness prayers being answered weekly.  Thanks goes to God and to everyone that joins us.

Our Zoom prayer group on Wednesday mornings are a great place to get together virtually, catch up a bit and give thanks.  It’s awesome seeing so many of you there laughing, listening, sharing, giving thanks and praying!

We’ll be doing it again tomorrow (Wednesday) @ 11:30am.  We’ll get together via zoom and share, talk, listen, give thanks and pray however God leads us.  It’s a way for all of us to get together virtually to catch up and be there for each other and with each other.  I hope you’ll join us!

My heart goes out to all the people and families of the people that have been affected by COVID-19.  Whether actually having it, being exposed to it, being affected by businesses being shut down, losing your job, working on the front line, etc.  These are tough times and we really need to take it seriously and do our part of practicing social distancing and all other recommendations.  I hope you and your family are safe.  Let’s keep everyone affected in our prayers and pray we all get through this as safely as we can.

As we all go through this pandemic together, I encourage you to share a smile with someone.  Perhaps you could give someone a call that you haven’t talked with for a while just to see how they’re doing.  This pandemic is tough in many ways.  We all could use a little extra love and encouragement during these times.

Let’s be thankful for all the doctors, nurses and everyone in the health care that are putting themselves at risk every day and every night as they serve those with the Coronavirus.  These are amazing, selfless, courageous people!  Let’s also give thanks to all the people in the world that are working diligently to develop testing equipment and ways to treat this Coronavirus.  Let’s also give thanks for all the people that are working diligently to produce protective gear, respirators, and any other medical equipment to help us get through this pandemic.

We may be inconvenienced in many ways but others have it much worse.  Let’s be thankful we have each other.  I know I’m thankful for you!

Let’s stay calm, focused, healthy, flexible, have faith and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day and make good choices.

See you soon…better days are ahead!

In God We Trust!
