Friends,

Good news!  I haven’t heard of anymore COVID related symptoms this past week so we’ll be getting together again on Wednesday and Friday mornings.  If you have any symptoms or know you’ve been exposed, please don’t come until your symptoms go away.  Please be respectful of the virus and others regardless of your beliefs about the virus.  Please wear a mask, wipe your machines down, etc.  Let’s continue to do our part getting together safely.

We’ll be getting together from 9:00am – noon on Wednesday and Friday.  I hope you’ll join us.

Many people have been asking about Dr Becky Thomas and her PT assitance program students from Bryant Stratton College.  Well, I have good news for you.  Dr Becky and her students will start joining us again tomorrow and will be with us every Wednesday until June 30th.  This is a great opportunity for students to learn about the challenges we deal with as we live with MS and it’s good for us to have help from Dr Becky and the students as we make improvements personally.  They will be wearing masks and taking COVID safety protocols.  Let’s do the same for them and keep them safe so we can continue to get together safely.  Welcome back Dr Becky and students!  We’re fortunate and thankful to have you join us again.

Last Friday, Ricky Heldt joined us and did Tai Massage for people.

We had a list longer than Ricky could get to so he’ll be back next week.  We’ll pick up on the list where we left off so everyone who wants to can experience this can.  We heard of lots of positive experiences last week after they were with Ricky.

I think I should share Joyce’s experience with Ricky.  Joyce made it back to the mat table where Ricky was working with people.  Ricky asked Joyce how she’d like him to help her.  She asked him to help her walk better.  Ricky worked on Joyce’s legs to help her walk better.  When he was done, her legs felt very weak and Joyce got very scared.  She said at least she tried and can see she’s not going to be able to do that anymore.  She didn’t feel her legs responded positively.  I felt bad for her because I really wanted her to have a positive experience.  Joyce sat there and rested for about 15 minutes afterwards.  I asked Joyce if she wants me to push her out to her car or if she wanted to walk.  Well, you know Joyce, she wanted to try walking.

Joyce started walking and made it all the way from the mat table to her car at a much smoother and faster pace than before the massage without even resting.  We didn’t even have to assist her foot with our foot.  Joyce said “this is like a miracle”.  She said she hadn’t walked like that in over a year.

Joyce, along with several others wanted to take Ricky home with her.  It was awesome to experience that with Joyce and Ricky.  Joyce wanted to me to make sure I went back in and thank Ricky for her.  I was happy to do that!  Thanks for being a good sport Joyce and letting Ricky work with you.  Thank you Ricky for doing what you did with Joyce and all the people you worked with!  We look forward to having you back soon!

Let’s talk about parking for a bit.  If you’re pretty mobile, please park in the gravel parking lot and leave the spots on the blacktop parking lot for people that are walking with walkers or in wheel chairs.  If anyone needs help getting out of their car, please stop outside the door so we can see you and we’ll come out and help you get out of the car and into the building.

It looks like it’ll be a little chilli again Friday morning.  Dress warm and let’s ride!  If it’s raining, we won’t be riding.  We had a nice ride last Friday even though it was a little chilli.  Let’s do it again this week.

We’ll be meeting at 7:00am at Nettesheim Park in Pewaukee.  It’s on the SE corner of Hwy SS and Oak Street.  The GPS address is:  N26W27495 Prospect Ave, Pewaukee, WI 53072.  Come a little early so you can get your bike out of your car and be ready to ride as close to 7:00 as possible.  We’ll ride until about 8:45.

If you need me to bring a trike or a tandem for you, please let me know as soon as you can so I can get them ready to ride.

If you’d like to ride but don’t know how you’d do it, please let me know.  We’ll do our best to figure out a way to get you riding.  We get pretty creative😊.

Last week, our prayer group was once again…powerful!  I just love the way we share, pray together and witness prayers being answered weekly.  Thanks goes to God and to everyone that joins us.

Our Zoom prayer group on Wednesday mornings are a great place to get together virtually, catch up a bit and give thanks.  It’s awesome seeing so many of you there laughing, listening, sharing, giving thanks and praying!

We’ll be doing it again tomorrow (Wednesday) @ 11:30am.  We’ll get together via zoom and share, talk, listen, give thanks and pray however God leads us.  It’s a way for all of us to get together virtually to catch up and be there for each other and with each other.  I hope you’ll join us!

As we all live with MS and go through this pandemic together; I encourage you to share a smile with someone.  Perhaps you could give someone a call that you haven’t talked with for a while just to see how they’re doing.  This pandemic is tough in many ways.  We all could use a little extra love and encouragement during these times.

MS is tough.  Let’s stay calm, focused, healthy, flexible, have faith and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices.  Better days are ahead.

In God We Trust!
Dan
