Friends,

I missed you all last week.  We had a wedding to go to in AZ and were fortunate enough to go and stay with some lifelong family friends.  We had an awesome vacation!  Many blessings…lots to be thankful for.  I took this picture from inside a restraunt we enjoyed a great meal with friends at.  They eat a lot of meals outside in AZ.  I thought the picture turned out pretty nice and thought I would share it with you.

Now I’m back and it’s time to have some fun with you 😊

We did get more space this past week and we’ll be having a volunteer cleaning session tomorrow after our workout session.  If you’re able and willing to stick around and help out, it would be greatly appreciated.  It would be nice to get the place cleaned up and more organized for our open house on Saturday.  Now that Wisconsin Metal Parts will not be working in this building anymore, our space should stay much cleaner.

Are you going to be able to make it to our open house Saturday afternoon?  It’s from 2:00-5:00.

I hope so!  Please help spread the word and invite anyone you feel might be interested in seeing what we’re all about.  We would like everyone that comes and exercises on Wednesdays and Fridays to come and exercise just like you would from 2:00 – 3:00 and give our guests an opportunity to see for themselves what happens every Wednesday and Friday.  During this time, slideshows will be running that Cal has put together.

At 3:00, we will be doing a little program which will consist of:

  • Phil will be our Emcee and welcome us
  • A short video that John Haupt is putting together
  • I will tell my story about living with MS…I know, you all heard it many times so I’ll try to keep it short and sweet
  • Phil will tell the story of several of our friends living with MS from different perspectives of living with MS.  He has interviewed them individually and our guests will get an opportunity to meet them.  The perspectives and stories we’ll be sharing will be as follows
    • Newly Diagnosed – Cathy W
    • Had MS long term and is very active – John H
    • Challenged with MS and upbeat – Donna A and Adam W
    • Large and inspirational recent recovery – Wendy M
    • Huge accomplishments despite MS challenges – Todd S
    • Volunteers – Cal N and Larry S
  • After the program, we’ll have the remaining time for socializing, learning more about some of our programs like reiki, nutrition, prayer group, art classes, tai massage, Friday morning bike rides, etc. and have some fun

I hope all of our current regulars will come.  I also hope all the people who used to come but haven’t been here for a while will come.  Hopefully, your family and friends will come as well.  I have a feeling the time will go extremely fast for this open house.  It will be like a family reunion.

As you all know, we could share the stories of many more people with MS as well as many more volunteers.  Please know we really apprciate you as well.  Perhaps we can share more stories in the future.  Sharing is fun!

If you know of anyone willing to video record our program, please let me know.  It would be nice to be able to video record it and share it with those of you who can’t make it.  I’m looking for a volunteer😊.

Shelley has created a new Facebook page to help us all stay connected.  We’re now up to 95 members.  That’s another 10 more than last week. 😊  That’s awesome…our community is growing!  Have you joined yet?  There are some fun pictures and comments out there.  I’m not a Facebook person so contact Shelley if you have any questions.  Here’s Shelley’s message about our new Facebook Page.

We have a new Facebook page!  Follow this link to check it out https://www.facebook.com/groups/2639832389489709 or you can search MS Just Keep Moving on Facebook.  All are welcome to post and comment.  Let’s keep things positive, upbeat and use this as another tool to stay connected and up to date. The page will be updated weekly with comments, pictures and updates.  Feel free to tag the group with posts from your own page as well.

We’ll be getting together again from 9:00am – noon on Wednesday and Friday mornings at the gym.

We realize the virus is not gone yet.  In fact, the numbers are very concerning again.  Many of us have either had COVID or have been vaccinated or both.  With the numbers going up, we have more people wearing masks again.  Thank you for doing that!

At this time, we’re leaving wearing a mask up to you to make good choices.  If you have concerns, please wear a mask.  Either way, please be respectful.  Thank you for being so understanding, cooperative and respectful through this entire pandemic.  I wish we didn’t have to worry about it but it’s reality at this time.

One of the most important things you can do is to stay home if you have any symptoms or know you’ve been exposed to someone with the virus.  Please don’t come until your symptoms go away.  Let’s also give each other some space when talking to one another and continue wiping the machines down before and after you use them with disinfectant.  Let’s stay safe!

Ricky Heldt will be here on Wednesday and Friday again this week doing Tai Massage.  Many of you have reported making great progress with chronic pain relief, range of motion, walking better and a new sense of hope when Ricky does his magic to you.  Please keep in mind that consistency is key.  We need consistency to realize the benefits long term.  That’s why we’re having Ricky here both Wednesday and Friday mornings.  We want you to have long term relief.  Ricky will have a sign up sheet based on first come first served.  You can pick the time slot that works for you.  I highly encourage you to take advantage of Ricky’s Tai Massages each day and sign up for your time slot as soon as you get there.

We will be having our prayer group in person again this Wednesday @ 11:00am.  At this time, we will not be doing our zoom prayer group since nobody has been logging on lately.  If you’d like to join us via zoom, please let me know and we’ll start it back up for you.

I just love the way we share, pray together and witness prayers being answered weekly.  Thanks goes to God and to everyone that joins us.

We’ll get together and share, listen, talk, give thanks and pray however God leads us.

Unfortunately, I was on an airplane and couldn’t start Adam’s call today.  I’m sorry about that!  Please forgive me.  We’ll be doing it again next Tuesday.  Please join us if you can…thank you!

I encourage you to share a smile with someone.  Perhaps you could call someone that you haven’t talked with for a while just to say hi and see how they’re doing.  We all could use a little extra love and encouragement during these times.

MS is tough.  Let’s stay calm, focused, healthy, flexible, have faith and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices.  Better days are ahead.

In God We Trust!
Dan
