Friends,
What “can’t” we do?
As we live with MS, we live with determination, resilience and a strong will to do whatever we need to do to beat this thing.  We can see and experience the positive effects of exercise, eating healthy, getting proper rest, staying hydrated, managing our stress levels, being on the proper medications, etc.  There’s something we can’t do.  I know, that’s not my typical mindset…can’t do something?

As business owner, I made it a high priority to delegate as much as I can and make sure all roles are filled with the right people as best I could.  If I did anything well in business, I feel I surrounded myself with good people and treated them the best I can.

While it worked in business and my business wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t delegate well,  delegating doesn’t work at all for receiving the benefits of exercise as we live with MS.  There are many days I wish I could have someone else exercise for me and I would receive the benefits.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way, we need to do the exercises ourselves in order to receive the tremendous amout of benefits from it.  Exercise is especially important for us living with MS.

I don’t even want to think about what my life would have been like or would be like now if I didn’t start exercising daily 23 years ago after barely being able to walk for a year and a half.  The only thing different I did way back then is start exercising.  It’s the only thing that helped get my mobility back.  I continue to sustain it today…daily exercise and my mobility.

Let’s keep exercising daily and receiving the many benefits of exercise.  Unfortunately, we can’t delegate it.  We have to do it ourselves.  Remember…consistency is key.  😊

Who’s making progress?  Let’s share our progress…Great job Jamie!

Dianne Post Memorial
Dianne’s husband Phil wants to make it as easy as possible for our MS-Just Keep Moving family to come to her memorial.  We will be having a memorial service for Dianne at the gym on Friday, March 15th from 11:00am – 1:00pm.  Dianne loved coming here and would be happy that Phil is doing this for her.

Here’s a link to Dianne’s obituary  https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/kenoshanews/name/dianne-post-obituary?id=54525008

Please save the date and come if you can.

Day of Endurance 2024 – August 24, 2024
I hope your training and journey is going well.  I know we are training together at the gym on Wednesdays and Fridays.  I hope you’re getting together with friends and family outside the gym the rest of the days of the week as well.  We’ll get out of this journey what we put into it or at least what our MS and our bodies will adapt to.  It takes consistency, patience and time.

Our next set of progress sheets should be turned in now if you haven’t already done so.  We will be using your progress sheets to help you make progress as well as share with others with MS that may benefit from what we are doing as a journey.

It’s really important that we’re active and we enjoy the journey of training for the Day of Endurance…preferably together.  I hope you can find some workout friends to enjoy this journey with.  It can be others with MS, neighbors, family members, movie stars, it doesn’t matter.  It really only takes one other person to have show up and do whatever you’re going to do each day together.  You can pick different people different days.

Let’s make this a recreational adventure.  A social adventure.  A rewarding experience.  And… “share” it.  So, let’s start inviting friends and family members to join us on this journey and have some fun with it.

Please share your progress with Kate.  Kate and Mike are working together to come up with a way to share our progress all year this year.  I hope you’ll engage in the journey and make progress yourself.

Many continue making great progress with chronic pain relief, range of motion, walking better and a new sense of hope when Ricky works with them.  Please keep in mind that consistency is key.  Not only with Ricky…with exercise too.  We need consistency to realize the benefits long term.  We want you to have long term benefits and relief.

Let’s reach out
I encourage you to share a smile and encouragement with someone.  Perhaps you could call someone that you have not talked with for a while just to say hi and see how they are doing.  We all could use a little extra love and encouragement.

MS is tough.  Let’s have faith, remain calm, be flexible, help each other and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices.

Let’s keep moving, loving and smiling 😊

In God We Trust…we are in good hands.

P.S. I was able to get back by my Mom and the Mississippi River near Dubuque Iowa this past weekend.  The migration of Pelicans was happening.  I’ve never seen anything like it.

They were flying pretty low

Some of them flew between me and the tree tops

Many (thousands) landed by an island and took a rest.  They were all gone the next morning.

I had some swans fly over too

They’re beautiful birds too

The geese were active too

As well as the bald eagles

The wind gave this guy a nice hair do

This is my favorite picture of the weekend.  I walked as slowly as I could to see how close I could get to him.  I literally got right underneath of him without him flying.  He gave me the old eagle eye.  I was ok with that. 😊

For those who can’t get out and enjoy nature due your challenges with MS…my heart is with you.  You are with me every time I’m out there.  I enjoy being out there and I also enjoy sharing with you.  I know how hard it is not to be able to get out and enjoy nature.  Let’s enjoy nature and God’s beauty together this way.
