Friends,
Our Bryant Stratton PT Assistant students are back on Wednesdays
We all love it when Dr. Sarah Andreucci, Dr Becky Thomas and the PT Assistant students from Bryant Stratton College join us.
They will be here on Wednesdays for this next semester. Letâs learn from them and help them learn about MS from us. Thank you so much to Dr Sarah, Dr Becky and all the students! Thank YOU for allowing the students to learn from you and your challenges with MS. You are a gift to them, who knows, we might even help steer the direction of their careers in some cases. We are blessed to have them join us.
 MS Education last Friday
Tom Holtackers put together a very informative presentation on exercise while living with MS.
Tom shared many of his own experiences as well as what heâs learned and used in his practice throughout his career as a physical therapist at Mayo Clinic working with people with MS and living with MS himself. There are pdf handouts printed out in the gym if youâd like to see outlines of his presentations.
Tomâs presentation on fatigue is now available as a video. You can check it out by clicking here
We will have his presentation on exercise available soon as well. Stay tuned.
Thanks so much for doing this for us Tom! You certainly have a lot of knowledge to share and a gift of sharing it so impactfully and graciously. You too are a blessing to all of us!
If you would like to contact Tom directly, heâd love to talk with you. You can e-mail Tom @ mssux@mac.com
Fund Raising / Event Planning Team
Are you willing to help us with either of these initiatives? If you are, please let me or Joan Ruffino know. Weâll be getting together again this Wednesday, September 14th at noon in the lunch room at the gym. I hope to see you there.
Just Keep Dancing â This past Sunday
Thank you to all who joined our first dance lesson this past Sunday. It sounds like it was fun and a learning experience on how to make it easier and more inclusive for people with MS. As we all know, there are a lot of neurological connections that need to be made while dancing. Thatâs one reason why dancing is so good for all us living with MS.
Sarah and Hazel had fun dancing together đ
Ricky and Shirah are thinking they will do another dance lesson in October. I hope they do!
Stay tuned đ
Music Therapy
Rick Talbert shared an experience he had Monday morning. He woke up and was having a really good day with his MS. Rick is like a lot of us; when we have a good day, we look around to see whatâs different and what we can do to duplicate this. Rick said he watched the Packer game Sunday with the volume down and some music on. He feels this was directly related to feeling good on Monday. Too bad the packers lost.
Since Rick had this experience, he decided to do some research on MS and music. Heâs finding there are many studies done about music being beneficial to us living with MS. Rick has offered to do more research and put together a presentation for us. Let us know when youâre ready Rick, weâd love to learn more about it. Who knows, perhaps this will lead right into our dance programs as well.
Open House â Save the date
Weâll be having our 2nd annual MS-Just Keep Moving, Inc. open house on Saturday November 5th from 2:00 â 5:00pm. Weâll be having a program at 3:00 expressing gratitude, sharing info about our programs and sharing some inspirational stories of people living with MS within our MS-Just Keep Moving family.
Cal Newby will be doing another Mission Trip
Cal will be going to Peubla Mexico from Saturday, September 24th to Saturday, October 1st. Cal will be serving the people of Peubla how ever God leads him to serve. Cal is asking for prayers while on this trip and if youâd be willing to support him in any other way, that would be appreciated as well. Please see Cal for more details or reach out to him via e-mail newbycal@gmail.com
Letâs get together!
Weâll be getting together again from 9:00am â noon on Wednesday and Friday mornings at the gym. I hope youâll join us!

Thanks goes to God and to everyone that joins us. Letâs get together to share, listen, talk, give thanks and pray however God leads us.
MS Just Keep Caring â Our Caregivers support group will be the first and third Friday of each month from 10:00 â 10:30am. The next one will be this Friday, September 16th.  If youâre a caregiver of someone you love with MS, please join us and share your experience of caring for your loved one. This has been very helpful for many. Thanks to all who participate!
Friday Morning Bike Rides
Letâs continue to ride as long as itâs not raining and above 45 degrees. Now that weâre getting into September, each week we get to ride together is a bonus.
Weâll be meeting Friday mornings at 7:00am at Nettesheim Park in Pewaukee. Itâs on the SE corner of Hwy SS and Oak Street. The GPS address is: N26W27495 Prospect Ave, Pewaukee, WI 53072. Come a little early so you can get your bike out of your car and be ready to ride as close to 7:00 as possible. Weâll ride until about 8:45. Letâs ride and have some fun!
The sunrises are pretty amazing this time of the year. Todd was on this 6:00am ride around the lake a couple weeks ago before our 7:00am ride. It was a beautiful morning to be out riding with him.
Itâs good to see Traci and Shelley out riding together again! Gloria looks good in the background too đ
For those of you who wish you could join us but canât; please know we have you in our hearts on these rides. Weâre riding with you and for you. I hope you too can join us someday. We really need to get this MS thing figured out. Letâs keep working on it together.

Please stay home if you have any symptoms or know youâve been exposed to someone with the virus. Please donât come until your symptoms go away. Letâs also give each other some space when talking to one another and continue wiping the machines down before and after you use them with disinfectant. AgainâŚletâs be socially responsible and stay safe!

Many continue making great progress with chronic pain relief, range of motion, walking better and a new sense of hope when Ricky works with them. Please keep in mind that consistency is key. Not only with RickyâŚwith exercise too. We need consistency to realize the benefits long term. We want you to have long term relief.
Ricky has a sign up sheet based on first come first serve. You can pick the time slot that works for you. I highly encourage you to take advantage of Rickyâs Thai Massages each day and sign up for your time slot as soon as you get there.
Reiki with Linda Linda will be here on Fridays doing Reiki. Many people say Lindaâs Reiki work is âmagicalâ. Weâre thankful for Linda offering her gifts and talents to us. Feel free to let Linda know youâd like to do Reiki with her. She also has a sign up sheet.

I encourage you to share a smile and encouragement with someone. Perhaps you could call someone that you havenât talked with for a while just to say hi and see how theyâre doing. We all could use a little extra love and encouragement.
MS is tough. Letâs have faith, remain calm, be flexible, help each other and learn as much as we can about the challenges of each day as we make good choices.
Letâs keep moving and smiling đ
In God We TrustâŚweâre in good hands
